Beyond Ukraine: Implications for Regional and Global Security

ASEAN Auditorium, Cabot International Center

The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University

Monday, November 24th, 6pm -7:30pm

Russia’s annexation of Crimea and possible incursions into eastern Ukraine could reshape the global geopolitical map and derail cooperation between Moscow and the West for years to come. Will Ukraine remain unstable, or will the ceasefire hold? How does the crisis influence U.S. strategy and Russia’s next moves? How will the fallout from the conflict impact regional and global security challenges?

  • Sergei Konoplyov, Director of the Harvard Black Sea Regional Security Program and Executive Director of the U.S.-Russia Security Program.
  • Robert Legvold, Marshall D. Shulman Professor Emeritus of Post-Soviet Foreign Policy at Columbia University.
  • Ilya Ponomarev, the only member of the Russian State Duma to vote against the annexation of Crimea and a key figure in the Russian opposition.

Moderated by:

  • Robert Pfaltzgraff, Shelby Cullom Davis Professor of International Security Studies.
